of "Blue Around The Edges" from The Boston Globe, May 1999 Collaboration
among Boston area musicians is what helps make the local scene so appealing.
However, such cooperation is never volunteered without respect and admiration.
That is what is so amazing about Carl Cacho's debut album. Not only does
it feature appearances by rising stars such as McCawley Burke, Stephanie
Corby, Kris Delmhorst, and Kevin So, but nationally known artists Ellis
Paul and Catie Curtis pitch in as well. Fortunately, Cacho's compositions
lend themselves to such participation. With little exception, Cacho presents
comfortable, honest and well-crafted sing-alongs and solo pieces with
humble grace and flair. From the personal questing of "Where Have
All The Heroes Gone" and the quirky romance of "The Rabbi's
Daughter" to the timeless "Save Me A Seat," Cacho sings
of musical journeys and of the people who make them special. |
